Might I recommend Bernini's "Apollo and Daphne" sculpture where Apollo is chasing the wood nymph Daphne in order to get his groove on and her father changes her into a laurel tree to keep her from being ravished. If you look closely at the sculpture you will see her legs changing into bark and leaves sprouting from her fingers. One of my favourite of Bernini's works.
