For Sale

Yes please! Just around the corner from SLP was this vacant house for sale. Always the daydreamer, my curiousity got the better of me and I looked it up to get the inside scoop. It's a three bedroom, three bath that's pretty roomy, considering how tiny it looks from the outside. I know that real estate in Dublin is astronomical and borders on the insane, so I wasn't too shocked to find that it's going for €425,000. That's a little more than $530k. At least it's way cheaper than a studio apartment in Manhattan!

Dick and Orson

There's nothing like a good interview and this one from Dick Cavett with Orson Welles was outstanding. Thank goodness for YouTube and all those that upload and preserve these fab shows to keep me busy during my workday!

Saturday in Wayne, PA

This past Saturday I met up with my brother Wayne to catch Murder on the Orient Express at the Anthony Wayne Theatre. To sum up in one word my opinion of said film, disappointment. But none of that matters because after the show Wayne and I wandered around this adorable and charming town, peering in windows at fabulous displays and browsing in the local book shop.

Added bonus was seeing Isabella for dinner!

New One Due in May!

Ashlee and Sean are expecting! The sex is still unknown, but Ash still likes Benjamin for a boy. I recommended Eric for the middle name as it is Sean's middle name as well. For a girl, Ashlee was unsure, so I came up with a list and the top runners are Reagan and Ariella. Scarlet held fast in third place. I like Reagan Ariella, personally, but time will tell!

Maria at The Fillmore

Last night I picked up Kayla and we headed to The Fillmore in Fishtown to see Maria Bamford! Maria was a hoot, but getting any amount of time with Kay is better than pretty much anything else in the world. We overdid it with the selfies, but hey, that's the thing to do nowadays.

Tír na nÓg

Met up with Miss Kimberly last night for drinks (for Kim) and hummus and veggies (for you-know-who). We never stop gabbing for a moment. Topics discussed ranged from work (naturally), to urinating in public bathrooms and our individual squat preferences/style, great 90s music, my Noel Gallagher experience, museums, street art, how disappointed we are with Kevin Spacey and his gross behaviour, Charlyne Yi and how hilariously cute she is, and of course, the possibility of Kim and I maybe going somewheres together in 2018. We finished the night with silly selfies in the peepod and a quick smoke out by the fire pit.

Wallander

I binge-watched (is there any other way to watch a television series in this day and age??) every season of this fabulous series and have come to the conclusion that Kurt Wallander is my favourite detective of all time. From the opening scene in the pilot episode where he is visibly shaken by what he's just witnessed, I knew I was in for one helluva ride. Beautifully acted by Kenneth Branagh who is flawless in his performance and so real that I was truly moved on so many occasions.

Delaware Art Museum

Spent the morning and into the afternoon at the Delaware Art Museum with Anne. It is located in a beautiful area of Wilmington and has fast become by favourite museum in the Tri-State area. Not too busy, loads of fabulous art and the best bit? Everyone we met - employees and other patrons alike - were super, crazy nice. It was a fantastic experience.

William Henry Millais - James Wyatt and his granddaughter, Mary - 1850

Dante Gabriel Rossetti - Veronica Veronese - 1872

Robert Wallace Martin - Tobacco Jar in the Form of a Grotesque - c. 1890

Edward Hopper - Summertime - 1943

Raymond Hood (designer) & Rene Paul Chambellin (maker) - Art Deco Elevator Door Panels - c. 1931

Gift shop goodies!! I showed mild restraint and did not buy everything I wanted.
