Eastern State Penitentiary

This afternoon Zach and I went in to Philly to tour Eastern State and then have lunch at Goldie Falafel. Neither of us had ever been to the prison and it was really interesting. Steve Buscemi narrates the audio tour and, of course, did a fantastic job. Thankfully the place was mostly quiet, save for a gaggle of giggly, loud teenage girls, and I was glad that we went on a weekday. I love photographing ruins but Eastern State was so grim and haunting that it added a-whole-nother layer to the sadness of a building that once was and now is mostly rubble.
