Dublin on Lockdown

Oh to have been in Dublin during the pandemic...to wander that city and have the streets devoid of noise and humans. So beautifully peaceful.

Mixtape for Dublin

I'm longing to return to Dublin and see all the new-to-me utility cabinets that are scattered around the city, Love Lane, the street art, the Green, the Chester Beatty, chips with salt and vinegar at Kingfishers, and to shop for jumpers at Retro. I'm hoping to see this one, but I fear it has been replaced...

Bram Stoker

This adorable tribute to Irish author Bram Stoker was created last year and I wish I could have seen it in person to photograph it myself. Oh how I do so miss the art of Dublin City.

Another One Biting The Dust

Like everything I love, Blazing Salads in Dublin is closing shop. Permanently. Their old shop on Drury was one of the highlights of my visits to the city because they had fantastic vegan grub plus super sweet employees. I discovered them in 2014 on my first trip to Dublin and never passed up the chance to pop in for some takeaway. I should be used to things going bye-bye at this point, but it doesn't seem to get easier. I'm gonna miss Blazing Salads. Like a lot. Especially their lentil burgers.

Glasnevin Cemetery in Black & White

When I was in college and taking Photography 101, it was the in-thing to take photos on black and white film at graveyards. Mine never looked as deep and haunting as Michelle's, but I gave it another go when I visited Glasnevin with Bella back in 2017. Somehow I managed to make the graves look cheery on a rare sunny day in good ole Dublin.

Window & Mirror Selfies

Here's a slew of photos that Bella and I took of our reflections when we were in Dublin and Edinburgh in the Spring of 2017.

Michel in Dublin

Yesterday morning I awoke to a WhatsApp message from Michel telling that he (and I'm guessing his mother) are on a trip touring Ireland! I loved seeing his photos of my beloved Dublin and was so envious that he is there and I am not. What an absolute sweetheart he is for keeping me in the know of his travels and adventures.

37 St. Peter's Road

In feeding my daydreams I looked up homes for sale in Phibsborough and came across this listing. The place is super crazy fabulous and I can so see myself decorating it and making it more me. I love the little patio out front and would load it up with plants and flowers plus a birdbath. I'd warm up the kitchen with Nana Irma's classic coffee and cream checkered wallpaper. The downstairs would have the front parlour for relaxing and watching Gogglebox Ireland and the other room I'd make into a fabulous library. Upstairs there'd be a fun office, a cosy spare bedroom, and of course, my room. The yard even has a little patch of grass for a swing and maybe even a telescope for stargazing.
