Ames Drug Store
Ames is this fantastic old pharmacy in Oaklyn that absolutely needs to be in a movie set in the 1950s. Every time I pass it, I feel like I'm in the town from The Sandlot and keep expecting to see a gang of kids dash out and jump onto their bikes ready to play ball against the neighbouring team.

Wow! There's nothing better than an old drug store with that mortar and pestle sign on it. Reminds me when I was a kid staying for weekends at my grandparents old Victorian house in Pennsauken. My grandmother and I would walk all the way up Westfield Avenue past the Walt Whitman theatre (which my great grandfather Poppy Bear built) finally to Thor's Drugstore where I'd get candy, You'll Die Laughing monster bubble gum cards, Black Jack gum, Peanuts paperbacks and comic books! I wonder if it's still there. Probably not. The Walt Whitman theatre's long torn down and so is my grandparents house.
