The Way We Were

Texted Kayla late last night to see if she was maybe free today to see Sydney Pollack's The Way We Were at The Colonial Theatre and then have dinner at El Burrito to discuss Mr. Inbetween. As luck would have it, she was available! While she still thinks Return to Me is way cuter, she really liked today's film. I love exposing the "kids" (my God, Kay is gonna be twenty-four next month!!!) in my life to movies and art and adventures that they would otherwise never experience.

(ps - On the drive to the theatre we got to talking about the men of Mr. Inbetween and played a round of Marry Fuck Kill with Ray, Dave, and Gaz as the potential suitors. As unbelievably sexy as Dave was, his overuse of the word cunt was a major turn off and Kay mentioned that he so looked like the kind of shallow guy that would dump his gal if she was anything less than perfect. Who wants to bed a man that makes you feel like crap about yourself? Ray on the other-hand was loyal and clearly went for women with character. Gaz is adorable but Kayla pointed out that his sexual proclivities could not be controlled and would never work in a long term relationship. So we both had the same outcome - we'd kill Dave, marry Ray, and have a one-off with Gaz. Gaz is sweet and caring and hey, why not treat myself to one night of crazy, disgusting, kinky-freaky sex before spending my remaining years with a handsome assassin? It was kind of hilarious how in-depth we got with this silly hypothetical scenario. Oh, and sorry Dave. You might be sexy as hell, but a heart of gold is way more attractive.)
