Moving to Youngstown, Ohio

Lately every place I adore on Cheap Old Houses' Instagram account is in Ohio. This one has me daydreaming of all the improvements and upgrades I could make, were I living my perfect life. Clearly starting with contacting a lawn service then fixing up the siding and roof, yank down those awful shutters and replace them with ones that could actually function. Decorative shutters on a home are as tragic as the illusion of a pocket on a jacket. Oh and while we're at it, let's fix those garage doors.

Next up is this entry way. Let's restore those steps, fix up that fab checkered floor, tear down the wallpaper, get rid of that tacky white plastic thing, since it's a complete eyesore, and brighten up the place with fresh paint.

Love the wallpaper here and I could so see making this a reading room since it's so bright and cheery. That brown chair needs to be reupholstered, though.

Donate the sofa and recliner, get that wingback loveseat professionally cleaned, paint them walls somethin' purty, and deep clean that carpet, cause I kind of love the colour.

Get rid of the lace curtains, clean everything and leave it as is. The wallpaper looks perfect here.

Replace the hideous light fixture with something classic and chic, swap out the floor with lovely tiles, change the ketchup and mustard walls to coffee and cream with Nana Irma's brown and cream checkered wallpaper above the doorways and windows. Get rid of that entire sink area and put in something befitting of a farmhouse.

Put a fixture over that sad little lightbulb and leave that paper alone!
