Lately it seems that every night at Star's place is a Nick at Nite marathon. There have been showings of such classics as Hotel, Three's Company, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Dynasty, Hart to Hart, Starsky & Hutch, Sledgehammer, and now, Maude. I absolutely adore Bea Arthur as Maude. I love her clothes and sense of style, her spot-on wit and hilarious retorts. I recently discovered that Ms. Arthur was a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps during World War II. If my father had known that was outranked by a Golden Girl, he would have been beyond delighted and saluted with pride and admiration. Semper Fi, Miss Bea, Semper Fi.
Now I wonder how much season one of Taxi is on Amazon...ooo! or maybe Matt Houston...
