Mum & Da - Halloween 1985

This was the only Halloween that my parents ever got dressed up. They went across the street to a neighbour's party dressed as a hobo and a carpenter. We kids were terribly impressed that my mother put coffee grounds on her face so as to look like she had a beard. I especially love how serious they both look. They were so dedicated to their craft that they never broke character. Daniel Day-Lewis, you gots nuthin' on my folks.

American Horror Story

I had forgotten just how incredible season one was until this week when I re-watched it in two days. Oh that Dylan McDermott...so dreamy...

Halloweens with Bill!

Back in the day I worked with a fabulous man who never ceased to amaze me with his keen wit, kind heart, and ability to shock even the most un-shockable of people. Hey, Bill, wherever you are in this wondrous world, I hope you are happy as all get out and still cracking people up - I miss you!

Saturday Night Out

Met up with the ladies tonight to celebrate Lauryn's bday. We decided to get all dolled up and head out for some delicious Italian cuisine in C.wood. Needless to say we had a blast and the evening was an utter laugh riot. Man, these gals are super fabulous.

Last night...

...I drove across the bridge into Fishtown to go for my weekly walk with Nicole. I hung out in the yard having a cigarette waiting for her to come down and let me in. Finally I get her on the phone and she says she is a block away; she had to meet Ashley at the bus stop. (man, i think to myself, i hope ashley wasn't that bitchy friend i saw her with two weeks ago...) I start to walk over and meet her and there I see Miss Nicole struttin' her stuff down the street all by herself. Then outta nowheres Ashlee pops out from around the corner. Yay! I get to see both of my nieces at the same time?!?! This is unheard of, unless we are attending one of our parents' funerals. I mean the three of us haven't hung out together since I lived with them in the late 90s. So us gals chilled out in the concrete yard for a couple hours, smoking cigarettes, eatin' grandma's potato salad and discussing everything from men we love to men we are infuriated by, to train travel, menstruation, infants with severe diaper rash, parental neglect, and money making schemes. We covered it all, baby. And here they are - the loves of my life:
