Taxi Cab Driver Shrine

Next to the taxi rank on Cathal Brugha is a shrine dedicated to the cabbies. The grammatical errors on the plaque are legion, but it was clearly made with love.

Myra and Jack

At the National Gallery of Ireland I spotted two oil paintings that had been created this year. I think they are both fantastic and I spent more time looking at these than any other pieces in the museum.

Look whose handprints I found outside the Gaiety!

33 North West Circus Place

On my way to Dean Village I came across what must be the most delightfully charming home in the entire city. I would kill to get a look inside, but it won't match or surpass my imaginings.

New Art on Temple Lane South

The street art at this location is different each time I visit and it's something I look forward to seeing each time I'm in Dublin.

It's a Ron Swanson Thing

Best thing I brought back from Scotland, for sure!

St. Bernard's Mineral Well

I follow an Instagram page about Edinburgh and they posted a picture of St. Bernard's Well not long ago. It looked so lovely that I decided to see it myself.

Teo's Thanksgiving Turkey

Natalia's nine year old son, Teo, did a Thanksgiving project entitled "Why turkeys shouldn't be eaten" and I think it's superb.

Abe in Edinburgh

Through the rain and 44 degree temperatures I hoofed it down to the Old Dalton Graveyard to see the Abraham Lincoln statue. It was erected in 1893 and is the only monument for the American Civil War that is outside the US.

Post Script - look at the sweet review I received from Steven:

Off to Scotland!

Last night was yet another restless night of very little sleep and loads of anxiety but I made my way to Dublin Airport with no complications.

After exiting the plane I bumped into my lovely seatmate (who flew in to Dublin out of Dulles in DC to visit her daughter in St. Andrew's) when she was looking for the baggage claim. Then after texting Steven and letting him know I was on my way to the flat I dashed over to the loo and who should I see? Seatmate Peg! It definitely called for a selfie and a hug before I was off to grab a taxi.

(For those not in the know, the correct pronunciation of this fab city is Ed-in-bruh or sometimes the locals will smoosh the first half and say it like Em-bruh.)

For Sale

Yes please! Just around the corner from SLP was this vacant house for sale. Always the daydreamer, my curiosity got the better of me and I looked it up to get the inside scoop. It's a three bedroom, three bath that's pretty roomy, considering how tiny it looks from the outside. I know that real estate in Dublin is astronomical and borders on the insane, so I wasn't too shocked to find that it's going for €425,000. That's a little more than $530k. At least it's way cheaper than a studio apartment in Manhattan!

And here are the photos kidnapped from the listing:
