After dropping off some goodies at Wayne's I stopped over to see Dave and Lucy. She and I played Uno Attack, Uno Junior, Go Fish!, Old Maid and of course, Bluey Scavenger Hunt!

On Christmas Night it was Kayla who first responded to my text asking her to answer these seven questions. Her answers are spot on!

My answers for Kay:

In what part of the world do you imagine me being the happiest?

I feel like a quaint town, maybe similar to Collingswood. You'd be in a nice home within walking distance of loads of shops and restaurants, near a train station so you can scoot into the city, and there'd also be walking paths and dog parks aplenty. 

What would you use to lure me into a trap?

Anyone or anything that's injured and needs help. "Kayla! Come quick, there's a kitten trapped in a wel..." Line goes dead because you are already out the door and dashing over.

In a perfect world, who would I end up marrying?

At this point I can see you and Kenny staying together and becoming happier with each passing year. But as a fun, celebrity person? Hmm....for some reason Tom Holland came to mind. He's cute, kinda dorky, and seems like a genuinely decent fella. 

What is your favourite moment we've shared?

Wing's Castle vacay - the drive and chatting, music, touring the grounds, and Tim Tam Slamming!

What name do you think suits me better than my own?

What things remind you of me?

Firefighters, EMS, Johnny Mathis, kittens & puppers, Bondi Vet, Steve Irwin and The Irwins, manga, anime, poetry, Halloween decor, and coconut anything.

What do you hope I will always remember about you?

That I am always on your side and cherish our friendship dearly. And that we owe it all to Aunt Donna for bringing us together!!

60 - The Dream

The Dream

There was a time when we saw the world in black and white. We knew only these two extremes with nothing in between, not even shades of grey. We understood the world only in terms of night or day, silent or loud, off or on. Other towns had colors but we resisted the idea. Too many possibilities would make us crazy, we thought. With only two options, our way of life was simple and we enjoyed it because we knew nothing else. We knew only hot or cold, happiness or sadness, perfection or chaos. Our radios had switches instead of knobs. We were either awake or asleep and we did not dream until a child woke us one night, banging on our doors with excitement. "I had the strangest sensation of being asleep yet also awake," she cried. "And this world was filled with such strange and wonderful things." That night we began dreaming too, and the next day we began seeing colors and hearing so many new sounds, and we knew this dreamland was where we were supposed to be.

Extremes should be avoided. Embrace the possibilities of limitations. Boundaries exist to lead us towards balance.

The Old House in Swedes

Back in 2007 I would visit friends and drive past this broken down home. I loved it. Any chance I got I would pull over and snap a pic. These are my faves. Sadly, it was demolished about a year later.
