Oh my god!! I had completely forgotten about this company until I leafed through an old Rolling Stone mag from '96. Hilarious.

Another Fab Weekend with Kids!
Saturday night I got a chance to see Miss Ashlee and her great big baby bump. She's only home for a short time, but seeing as we hadn't been together since February, a couple hours with just us was wonderful.
Then on Sunday I got to play hop scotch and generally goof off with Syd, Zach, and Jackson. Now I just gotta set up some time with Nicole, Kayla, Jaeden, Bella, John, and Logan 'cause I haven't seen them since January and it's been TORTURE!
(please note miss sydney's fab footwear in the first and second photos in which she appears.)

Last Tango in Halifax
I know I've been posting WAY too much about TV shows, but it's my escape! I just started watching Last Tango in Halifax and oh my gosh, it's so cute. I love Derek Jacobi and always have. So handsome, so talented. He's the god damn cat's meow, if you ask me. Anyway, back to the show. There's a scene in the pilot episode when his character, Alan, finds out that his childhood sweetheart, Celia, had actually, all those years ago, sent him a note explaining her whereabouts and providing her new address. She hadn't stood him up; she did genuinely care about him! Well, the look on his face instantly reminded me of Rick's reaction to seeing Ilsa in Casablanca. He was devastated. You could immediately see his mind piece together what might have been, had he received that note. It was an astonishing reaction and some of the most authentic acting I've ever seen. After the scene was over, whilst wiping away tears (when did I become such a softie?!?), I thought back on his expression and thought to myself, how in the hell did he do that!? That's Jacobi for ya. A supreme gift for conveying so much in a single expression. Can't wait to see the rest of the series!

(ps - Derek Jacobi's accent (Yorkshire, perhaps??) is dazzling. I hang on his every word.)

Maude
Lately it seems that every night at Star's place is a Nick at Nite marathon. There have been showings of such classics as Hotel, Three's Company, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Dynasty, Hart to Hart, Starsky & Hutch, Sledgehammer, and now, Maude. I absolutely adore Bea Arthur as Maude. I love her clothes and sense of style, her spot-on wit and hilarious retorts. I recently discovered that Ms. Arthur was a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps during World War II. If my father had known that was outranked by a Golden Girl, he would have been beyond delighted and saluted with pride and admiration. Semper Fi, Miss Bea, Semper Fi.
Now I wonder how much season one of Taxi is on Amazon...ooo! or maybe Matt Houston...

Zipperhead
This photo is probably from 1995. Zipperhead on South Street in Philly always had funky clothes and shoes that were usually out of my price range. The first time I was there I saw a t-shirt with a very Raphael-type picture of a Madonna and child and on the back it read Mary was an unwed, teenage mother. I'm still kicking myself for not forking over the dough and adding it to my wardrobe. I did however purchase one shirt for, I think, about fifty bucks. It was an X-girl shirt. I was all about the Seattle music scene in my high school years and into college (hello, it was the 90s) and I still have that super tiny shirt that's navy blue and white striped. It's one of those things that I don't think I'll ever be able to part with. Kinda like my pink babydoll dress with the white Peter Pan collar from Contempo Casuals that made me feel like I was Courtney Love. Chipped nail polish and all!
