Live on the Sunset Strip

Bishop told me a couple weeks back about when he saw this Richard Pryor stand-up in the theatre. He said it was dark, really dark at times, but absolutely hilarious. Today I took a work-at-home day since I'm feeling yucky. My recipe for self healing is lots of water, tea, soup, vitamin C, ibuprofen and most of all, laughter. I fired up this special and god damn, Bishop don't lie. It was incredible. Richard Pryor was hysterically funny and then deep and maudlin. He was so full of truth and completely open about himself, his feelings and thoughts. He was crass and then in the next moment he was eloquent. It was without question a totally astoundingly beautiful performance. I feel better already, so thanks for that, Rich. xoxo

Louis Lozowick

When Ash and I went to PAFA, this painting caught my eye from across the room. To me it looked like the cover of an Ayn Rand novel. I loved the angles and towering buildings in varying whites, blacks, and greys with gorgeous slashes of red. It's absolutely stunning.

I Heart Kat

Marina, Kathryn, and I have a date set for late January to meet up with Lauryn for some Indian Food. Lauryn had tried it once and wasn't impressed but is willing to give it another try. This is the email correspondence between Kat and I regarding Indian cuisine:

Kat: It took me a couple of tries before I liked it. But honestly I'm convinced it was getting pregnant with Evie that really changed my tastes lol.

Me: so long as your tastes for strange and unusual gal pals always stays the same!

Kat: My love for you is buried so deep it could never change :)

How stinkin' cute is that? Can't wait to see her and lil' Miss Evangeline tonight!!!

To Chant

I really feel like I need to get into chanting at the end of a day. Like a way to block out everything and just be still. I found a mantra that if chanted 108 times takes approximately one hour.

Om Apadamapa Hataram Dataram Sarva Sampadam Loka Bhi Ramam Sri Rama Bhuyo Bhuyo Namamyaham

It translates to Oh most passionate Rama, please send your healing energy right here to the earth, to the earth. I'm gonna give it a try and hopefully it will allow me to focus less on my anger and what is missing and more on healthy, healing thoughts for all!

I'm Sorry You Feel That Way

Oh my god, this was one of the funniest comedy specials I've ever seen. Bill Burr continues to leave my sides split and aching. When he compared women to a rescue dog in that you just wanna always keep them calm, I seriously thought I was gonna shit my pants from laughing so hard. This man is so funny he will loosen your bowels. Ya don't come across someone like that every day. Get yer asses over to Netflix and start a-watchin'!!
