Uncle Alan Goes Minimalist
Last month when I visited Uncle Alan and Ann Marie I captured a cute little video out in the drive. He was wearing a sweater that once belonged to my father, his big brother, and told me how his lady loathes it, while he is embracing minimalism.

Snow Angels
Today we got the year's first snowfall, sadly only a handful of flurries, and it reminded me of those darling little cakes I saw on the Vegan Treats Instagram page. Absolutely adorable!

Being Henry
In December 2023 I was at Reads and saw Henry Winkler's memoir in hardback. Should I??? I mean I already had the audiobook version....but this one was signed!! So I flipped through the stack and chose the only one that had a "Hi" added to it and the bonus? It was in green sharpie. How could I resist?

December 2023 Donations

Our founder, Jamie Tworkowski, didn’t set out to start a nonprofit organization. All he wanted to do was help a friend and tell her story. When Jamie met Renee Yohe, she was struggling with addiction, depression, self-injury, and suicidal thoughts. He wrote about the five days he spent with her before she entered a treatment center, and he sold T-shirts to help cover the cost. When she entered treatment, he posted the story on MySpace to give it a home. The name of the story was “To Write Love on Her Arms.” Read the original story here.
THE TITLE, “TO WRITE LOVE ON HER ARMS,” ALSO REPRESENTED A GOAL—TO BELIEVE THAT A BETTER LIFE WAS POSSIBLE.
We believe:
You were created to love and be loved.
People need other people.
Your story is important.
Better days are ahead.
Hope and help are real.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE, AND THIS IS NOT THE END OF YOUR STORY.
SINCE 2018, TWLOHA’S FIND HELP TOOL HAS SEEN 56,000 PROGRAM SEARCHES. FOR EVERY 4 SEARCHES, SOMEONE WILL TAKE THE NEXT STEP TO SIT WITH A COUNSELOR OR CALL A CRISIS HOTLINE.
No matter what you’re facing, you deserve to be connected to help. We want you to know that people have been where you are now. Things can get better. Healing is possible.

Scenes at an Arrivals Gate
• Two young Asian teenagers chase after a black businessman to alert him to the papers he dropped.
• A white guy in his 20s wears an un-ironic skullet, soul patch, and Dwight Schrute glasses, making him one of the worst sights here.
• Two twenty-somethings (male and female) are making out like its junior year of high school and they are in between classes. Ga-ross. They’re still at it...
• 50+ lady “woooos” loudly at sight of young man and woman with baby. Typically, she goes right to the infant and is beside herself.
• A teenage boy with an untied shoelace making him appear like a knucklehead five year old about to trip himself up.

Then Came You
I am obsessed with Kathie Lee Gifford's wardrobe in this film. I first watched it in September 2021 and since then I've probably seen it a dozen times. It's not the greatest film ever made but I really love it. The music is warm and catchy, Craig Ferguson is his usual wonderful self (and as dreamy as ever), and the scenery is spectacular. But nothing tops KLG's fab clothes!
