August 2024 Donations

GoFundMe

Kate Gabrielle has had a tough past month, what with having to put her dream home up for sale and then her family pet needing expensive surgery. She posted a link on her Insta page for a GoFundMe to help her parents cover the enormous costs. I popped on over and threw some money their way. Every little bit helps financially and I'm hoping helps them feel the love from a bunch of strangers like me.

George is a sweet, gentle, timid little kitty with a heart full of love. She's closely bonded to our parents, Jeff and Judy, and enjoys cuddling with them in bed at night and joining them on the couch to watch TV together during the day. When she's not busy with her best friends, she likes to take toys from her toy basket and leave them all over their house (sometimes in little piles or in evenly-spaced lines going down the hall.)

Unfortunately, in what felt like the blink of an eye, George went from being her usual quirky self to being admitted to an emergency animal hospital in critical care. What started with her developing a slight limp rapidly worsened to a near-complete loss of mobility, inconsistent appetite and seizures. After several appointments and tests, it was determined that George had a brain tumor. Fortunately, they had a wonderful surgeon handling the situation. She performed additional testing and concluded that she could proceed to operate and remove the tumor. Despite the significant risks, the surgeon and her team removed the tumor flawlessly, and George now has an "excellent" prognosis to make a full recovery with many years of cuddles, TV and toy time ahead of her.

This was a horrifying situation; a "close-call" that felt like it played out in slow-motion. But as any normal people would do for their loved ones, my parents made the choice not to give up on George when she needed them most. Now George is home with them and starting her journey to a full recovery, and the journey toward financial recovery is beginning in tandem. This was an extremely expensive ordeal and any contribution of any size would be deeply appreciated and would go a long way in helping. And if a contribution isn't a viable option, it would be so deeply appreciated too if you could share this with your friends. George, her best friends (our parents), and all of us, are grateful for your time. Thank you.
