I was heading in to MOM's with Bella earlier this month and one of the two young men standing outside commented about my hair and asked what I used so he could get some volume in his own hair. Ha! On the way out they mentioned that they were there to sign up people for donations to Heifer International. I told him we were on our way to lunch but that I would be back before they left. I returned and was deemed a "1%er", as so few of those who pledge to return actually follow through. I signed up for $25 a month with the option to cancel. The fellas were very nice, but I felt uneasy about it. I mean, I had given a complete strnger all my info - credit card, name, address, cell phone number. I worried that I'd been foolish. So the next day I emailed Heifer and asked that they cancel my option to be billed each month. They were very understanding and thanked me for the small donation I'd already made. I felt so good about their reply that I went back to the website and put in a one time donation. In the future, if there are people outside MOM's, I think I'll just go to the organisation's website and make a single donation on my own. If they don't like it, oh well.
