A Moment with Marina in Jean-Michel
One day in the late Summer (possibly early September) of 2005 I was driving around in Jean-Michel, the Mazda 626 I got after Morrison was stolen in Port Richmond, and was picking Marina up at her job as a nanny. Loving that I finally had a way to record movies on my camera, on this day I decided to start recording as Marina dashed down the driveway and hopped in. I love that I captured our two common catchphrases and the music I was listening to at the time, but what I love the most is that it is Marina and me and we are young and together. Before middle age sets in, children come along, and we no longer have the luxury to see one another on an, at least, weekly basis. Coming across silly mini movies like this are like walking along the sandy shores of a dull, local beach on a dreary evening and stepping on a large jewel that the ocean churned up and deposited in your path, just for you.
