Nyad

I'd heard about Diana Nyad years ago, maybe on a list of women or even gay people to know about, and so when I logged in to Netflix and saw a clip of a new film on her life I instantly hit play. The film scores a hundred percent on the Bechdel test which is not an easy feat! Annette Bening as Nyad and Jodie Foster as Bonnie, her coach/handler/friend/biggest supporter, were pure perfection. I'd forgotten what an effortless actor Jodie Foster is and thought her performance was particularly moving. Bening is always good and I'm so glad that more people will be exposed to the name and determination of Diana Nyad. A remarkable woman who achieved greatness.
