Sunday with Emily!

Unbelievable that it's been one day shy of a whole dang year since seeing Emily and the kids. After her surgery in December 2020 followed by her contracting COVID in the hospital and remaining there in a comatose state until March of this year, we never were able to set up a get together. I wanted to wait until we were both fully vaccinated, which was in late May/early June. Then things were hectic at her place with physical therapy and trying to regain her health. I wanted to give her space and not add any stress by pleading with her to PLEASE lemme come over! Today was the day that all the stars aligned for us and it was perfect. Ana and Adam were adorable as always and I got to spend a couple hours at the kitchen table chatting and catching up with just Emily. She looks stupendous and although she still has some residual issues from COVID, she's holding up beautifully. We ended the visit with lots of hugs and an overdose of I love yous. I'm really hoping to be able to stop over at least once a month going forward.
