Six Feet Under

Now that this show is available to stream on Amazon, I am going back and re-watching the entire series, probably for the fourth or fifth time. It's just as incredible now as it was all those years ago, sitting on Pax and Bishop's couch on Sunday night, surrounded with cigarette smoke and fabulous friends. All of the characters are so easy to love and identify with and that is what makes the last episode so unbelievably hard to watch. Best series finale of all time. Never to be topped.

POST SCRIPT 28 JULY 2025
I rewatched the series all over again with my one month of HBO Max. It's still a great series, with brilliant writing and fantastic storylines. The one thing I noticed that was borderline pathetic was any time David or Nate or Claire had to cry. Up until maybe the last episode they were dry. Just a crumpled face and pretending to sob. It's just not relatable or realistic. Most people try to suppress the sobs and save face, which is what makes the viewer sympathise and become emotionally attached and find the pain believable. But Maya is still my favourite, favourite character. Oh my gosh but she (or rather they since the role was performed by twins) is the cutest damn thing on the planet.
